Hi,
Does anyone know of a long handled grabber that is "closed" at rest?
All that I have seen need gripping to close and hold closed once object collected.
With poor grip I need to be able to open briefly by squeezing and then grip. Hope that makes sense.
I have looked in many catalogues but no success yet. In hope rather than expectation Anne

Hi, Dorothy,
Thanks for that idea, I used to clear our fish tank- maybe should
have thought laterally. Anne

hiya Anne

Another idea perhaps would be to have one where the grip is lockable .. this is probably a better idea as to have one that is closed initiatally would probably require a spring that would be difficult to adjust to the object you are trying to pick up..
I googled and found these with lockable grip...

Lockable grip grabber 1

Lockable grip grabber 2

Just found these aswell which appear to be what you are after :)
Closed reachers Look at all the ones that say closed , i hope they are substantial enough for you anmd there are more on page 1 of the link :)

Hope this helps

Rich :)

Hi Rich,
So many thanks for attaching a brain cell for me. This does sound a
more sensible answer, will check it out next week to see if I can
lock and unlock the trigger. Thanks again. Hope you are getting better attention
now. have you tried changing consultant or MMH? Anne

Hi anne ,
Must admit it did take me a while to find the correct search term glad to be of help .
Thanks for asking about treatment ...
Had MRI's last Friday ..consultant's the Friday before where it was agreed by both of us that we would hold off on MTX and Hydroxy until results of MRI . Further appt was apparently booked for 14th November ( however have not received written confirmation)
If scans show damage.. then MTX and Hydroxy , if not... something less toxic ...we shall see .. Will then decide whether to get a referral elsewhere.:)

Let us all know what grabber you get and ow good it is :)
